Symptoms and service
What’s changed with your undercounter refrigerator?
These appliances often sit tightly between finished cabinets or beneath a counter. A decorative toe kick, furniture placed nearby or an item caught behind a drawer can affect the way the installation operates. We check the unit and cabinet opening before explaining what access is needed.
The cabinet is warmer than it used to be
Record the control setting, displayed temperature if available and what first made you notice. Mention whether all drawers or only one section seem affected. An appliance used for beverages should still be compared with its own normal operation and intended temperature range.
A drawer does not close comfortably
Look for an obvious container obstruction without forcing the drawer. The panel, tracks and stored contents can interact. If a panel has recently been adjusted or nearby cabinetry changed, explain the sequence so the technician can examine the installation as well as the appliance.
There is moisture along the floor
The point where water emerges may be different from its source. Note whether it appears near the front, inside a drawer or after the door has been open. Protect surrounding finishes and stop using the unit if there is an active leak or an electrical concern.
What we check.
We check temperature, airflow, controls and the way the door or drawer closes. The cabinet opening and ventilation also matter. If the unit needs to come out, the technician will explain the access needed before removal.
Getting ready for service.
Remove objects from the floor in front of the unit and keep the counter area available. Tell us if it is installed outdoors; only models intended for that setting should be treated as outdoor equipment. Mention any recent cabinet or flooring work when you call.
Access matters in an undercounter installation.
- Describe a hinged door, refrigerated drawers or a cabinet with a custom panel.
- Mention a grille covered by cabinetry, flooring changes or a drawer that rubs.
- Leave the unit in place and clear the space in front of it.
