Symptoms and service
What’s changed with your refrigerator?
A wide built-in refrigerator and a newer column may sit behind similar cabinet panels but have different controls and access requirements. The model label lets the technician work from the right information. If the refrigerator and freezer are separate units, describe each one individually.
Cooling changes over the course of the day
Notice whether the whole cabinet feels warmer or one shelf is affected. Include the normal setting and any recent power interruption. A change that persists after ordinary loading is different from a brief temperature rise while groceries are being put away.
Water collects inside or beneath the cabinet
Tell us where it first becomes visible and whether it coincides with using a dispenser or ice maker. A water-supply concern, moisture around a door and an internal drainage issue need different checks. Protect the surrounding floor while arranging service.
The door feels heavy, uneven or difficult to close
Look for a visible storage obstruction, then leave adjustment to the technician. Door panels, hinges and nearby cabinetry can affect fit. Mention recent flooring or cabinet changes, especially if the trouble started immediately afterward.
What we check.
We check cabinet temperatures, airflow, door seals and controls, then test the components indicated by those findings. Water or ice complaints also lead us to the supply and dispensing equipment fitted to the model. The repair depends on what the checks show.
Getting ready for service.
Have the model information and a short description ready when you call. Clear the floor in front of the refrigerator and avoid moving a heavy built-in. If stored items are no longer staying suitably cold, arrange alternative storage while waiting for service.
A built-in refrigerator needs more than a size match.
- Tell us whether it has custom cabinet panels or a stainless front.
- On paired columns, identify the refrigerator and freezer separately.
- Mention recent installation, door adjustment or other repair work.
